Quick correction - the LMS building opened in the fall of 1972, not '73, and I omitted the total revamping/remodeling of the Loganville Elementary building. It was originally the Loganville School building and housed grades 1-12. Around 1969 or so, the old West Walton school building (now the Water Authority) in Youth housed 1st and 2nd grades. he building in downtown Loganville underwent massive remodeling and reconditioning after the opening of the current LMS building, which housed both the High School and Middle School for many years.

It' also worth noting that to the best of my recollection, it was at the LOGANVILLE school where there was at least one full-blown racially-charged mass brawl after school in the area between the school building and the student parking lot adjacent to the old Rock Gym back around 1970 - 71 or so. And while it was certainly an era of racial tensions everywhere, I don't know of any mass racial brawls that broke out at Monroe Area. during that period. I know there weren't any by the time I arrived there as a freshman in the fall of '73.

Anyone?
