In response to posts made in the beginning of this thread, Mr. Franklin has been a really good principal. I don't care if he was hired because he's married to Hobbs great aunts step daughter twice removed or was the top chimp trainer for the NFL in 1985...he's a good guy and a good principal. Hicks has been a wonderful AP and I'm surprised the people he has done so much for aren't on here saying it, so I will be the first. If anyone can turn that school around Brian Hicks will probably be the one to do it. That is my prediction for 2012. Give the man a chance before you start gathering the lynching hordes and pitchfork toting masses. George needed to go. I think Hobbs is doing an okay job compared to the previous act (Lull). Lynch was a screw up, we have all established that. She should have burned and we established that 432 posts ago. But, not all of Hobbs decisions have been bad. Like I said, give Hicks a chance, you parents at Monroe may be pleasantly surprised.

As far as school buildings are concerned the new schools in Monroe were long over due and I don't recall anyone denying those kids a good building or stating they didn't deserve them. The new over the top stadiums for LHS and MAHS should have been delayed until a new LMS was built. I think education should trump sports, sorry. Now, we probably won't see the new LMS because of the "economy" (good enough excuse for everyone else!?!). BUT, one decent decision made by Hobbs, after Lull was finally ousted, was placing Dr. Brock at LMS. Those of you who had the pleasure of the Dr. Williams years and the principal prior to him (remember the parents and teachers protesting in front of the school??) will get my reasons for saying so. Brock turned up the heat and made LMS a safer more enjoyable school to learn in just like I believe Hicks will do for MAHS.
