Since EATS is made up entirely of adults who are responsible drinker and non-drinkers, and since most of us enjoy wine or another libation with our fine dining experiences, Queen SLP doesn't actively search for venues that don't serve alcohol. Another of our rules is "No chains", meaning we probably won't ever wind up at IHOP or Golden Corral or Cracker Barrel. We are a widely diverse group of people and some choose not to have alcohol and opt for tea, water or soda. So far every venue has offered choices to ALL of our participants and of course, anyone has the option of skipping an event if it's not what they're looking for. This past Saturday's event at Mary Mac's was a good example. Although there was a full bar at the restaurant, not a single diner chose to drink. The table was covered with pitchers of sweet tea, unsweetened tea, coke, diet coke, water and lemonade and we were all quite happy with our choices.

FWIW, there is some talk about trying to organize a community potluck dinner but I'm afraid there will still be libations available for those who so desire. This isn't an attempt to exclude anyone. This group was organized in such a way as to accommodate everyone who is willing to abide by the Queen's rules and enjoy an adult evening. Keep checking the Food and Recipe section for the EATS announcements-perhaps one day something will fall into your limited range of acceptable venues. I really do hope you can join us one day, we have a wonderful time, every time!
