Explorer, you've missed the point. You are more than welcome and everyone is invited. The EATS club started because of the many grand reviews of local restaurants within an hour's drive of the Ville. SLP graciously stepped up to organize the events. She bases her decisions on the reputations of the restaurants and their dessert menu, not their wine list. She spends many hours organizing and getting reservations and trying to herd up the RSVP's in a central location for car pooling and answering transportation needs. Once a month, we get together for adult conversation and occasionally, there is an event organized for families. This is not a closed event. You are certainly welcome to attend. And if you choose not to, please don't make ugly remarks about "not being invited." The only decadence we are experiencing is the cheesecake.
And for what it's worth, I consider God's gospel to be as relevant to my children as any adult - so when I worship, I do with my children. No childcare is required. But thanks for the invitation. If I find I need an adult evening out and there is no EATS social planned, I may just dump my kids and head to the scheduled service.
The art of progress is to preserve order amid change and to preserve change amid order ~ Alfred North Whitehead
