I'm going to have to take exception here, Fro. Even if I were a big chain restaunteur and I had an option of opening just this side of the Ville in Gwinnett County and only had to pay maybe $1500 total to serve LBTD and then, less than a half mile up the road, within the city limits I'd have to pay something maybe TEN TIMES that amount (o.k. maybe not that much, but something much more) - I'd be more inclined to set some roots down there in the Oasis Bowl vincinity OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS. Still have a Loganville address, the services of Gwinnett County and those of Loganville City (I understand the fire depts are very good at helping each other out) - I'd find my profits higher than if I had to pay the larger amount for licensing.

Loganvillians win because the big chain, $6 burger is still available - along with a heck of a martini should they choose - but the city gets NONE (count that $0 ... nada) of the proceeds from either the licensing or the sales.

How in the heck does that make sense???? Why on earth would an ordinance be crafted that would discourage what most would call QUALITY growth? (and I say MOST knowing that you disagree) Sure, you can get more money in the licensing if you can talk people into, but then again, I got a bunch of Beanie Babies in storage that I hear will be a great retirement IF I CAN GET SOMEBODY TO BUY THEM FOR WHAT I THINK THEY ARE WORTH rather than what they can go next door and buy them for the $5 each that is closer to their actual value.
