So maybe I missing something here, maybe it's just the message that turned people off. Maybe I live in a black and white world when I should be in a gray area.....
So Trump answers the question along these lines:
The question was (and I will paraphrase, hopefully I get it right), if abortion were illegal, would you punish the woman who got an abortion? The doctor? Trump answered something along the lines that Yes, I would punish the woman and/or the doctor.
Then the crap hit the fan, people couldn't believe that he just said he would punish the woman.
So are we to infer that if a woman commits a crime that she should NOT be punished? If (and this isn't the perfect analogy given the topic), a prostitute and a john are caught 'in the act', aren't both prosecuted (aka Punished?) Or if a drug dealer and a drug buyer are caught, don't we prosecute both even if a woman is involved?
Is this a case where that people either didn't like the messenger (i.e. Democrats) or they didn't like the message (traditional Republicans)?
Of course he altered his answer later to say only the doctor, then said the States could handle it. So now he's trying to be politically correct, something he says he isn't.
So confused
